Comprising keynote sessions and focus group discussions, the SGBMP 2020 Engagement & Visioning Exercise saw the participation of almost 100 stakeholders from the built environment value chain and beyond. As per its namesake, the #SGBMP2020 is drafted for Singapore, by Singapore, necessitating the involvement of stakeholders not immediately involved in building and construction. In fact, a key takeaway was the ramping up of engagement with the ultimate end-users of green buildings.

The climate emergency may be upon us but the built environment remains well positioned to address climate challenges. As articulated by Dr. Ho Nyok Yong, President of SGBC, during his welcome address, “Our buildings can be the game-changers in the quest against climate change, if we can ensure that all of the buildings we live, work and play in are green and low-carbon.”

Together with BCA, we look forward to creating a new green building masterplan for Singapore.
